
(Panama City, Panama) January 26, 2010, A Cooperation Agreement Framework to foster the sustainable use of regional marine and coastal resources was signed by Gabriela Etchelecu, Director of MarViva Foundation and Emilio Sempris, Director of the Water Center for the Humid Tropics of Latin America and the Caribbean (CATHALAC)
The Agreement establishes a cooperation framework between MarViva Foundation and CATHALAC, in order to develop joint initiatives, which will allow them to gather, analyze, and publish marine and coastal ecosystems information useful for decision makers and the general public.
Both MarViva and CATHALAC Directors stated how pleased they were to join efforts to generate tools and information, which will support the promotion and sustainable use of marine and coastal resources.
The initiative to subscribe the Agreement between MarViva and CATHALAC came to be as both Parties met on several occasions where common interests and complementary strengths were identified.
