March 30, 2009, Panama City. Fifty (50) students from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology visited the offices of CATHALAC with the purpose of learning about the activities the Center carries out in themes relating to research and technology. The students are graduate students specializing in information technology, maritime technology, and control and automatization processes.
The Norwegian University of Science and Technology has focused their
interest in the country of Panama, visiting select companies and
centers, such as CATHALAC, to obtain a better impression of the
research and technology applied in the country. 
The students were attended by CATHALAC personnel and received a tour around the office, as well as a tour of the Chivo Chivo campus site, all the while carrying out an interactive activity that allowed them to make presentations and suggestions on themes related to their interests. This visit marks the beginning of an awaited relationship of cooperation and exchange between CATHALAC and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
