The Centre, through its many activities either as an own initiative or strategic partnership, prints its leadership in current issues and relevance to water resources and the environment. The publications are provided below are a sample of it and its interest in promoting sustainable development in countries of the humid tropics of Latin America and the Caribbean.
The Natural Fix? Role of ecosystems in climate mitigation
CATHALAC's Division of Applied Research and Developement formed part of the reviewing committee for this worldwide, rapid response assessment by UNEP to mark World Environmental Day 2009. The report entitled, The Natural Fix? The role of ecosystems in climate mitigation shows how restoration and management of natural ecosystems, especially through carbon sequestration, will provide effective ways to mitigate the impacts of climate change.
